These are comparable to those and considered the finest amethyst to come out of america and the finest to come out in the late 20th century. They were and still are considered the finest amethyst to ever come out of anywhere. The name came about from an amethyst deposit discoverd in Siberia, Russia back in the early 20th century. I am sure most of you have seen the term siberian amethyst of siberian colored amethyst. I don''t know if any of you have bought tourmaline cut stones from either Maine of california but those will cost more than ones from brazil or Afghanistan just because of locality.
